When the entire world shuts down because of a pandemic and your whole family is now working and learning from home, you move your home office to the basement! Travis and Amanda have a lovely home in Fort Collins, Colorado where the family spends most of their time on the main floor. When Corona hit in Spring 2020, the family made the decision to move Amanda’s office down to the basement that was currently a “storage” room. This would give her a little quiet while she tried to focus as much as possible with her husband and son now at home during the day.

Due to the pandemic, I was unable to travel to Colorado to help the family execute the plan, therefore I gave them a super specific purchase list and even a layout for their bookshelves arrangement. The office turned out so well and Amanda was so pleased that it is now a bright and cheery space and not a dim basement.

They were able to execute the plan so well, and Amanda even had a client on a Zoom call ask if her bookshelf arrangement behind her was a virtual background! Ha! What a compliment!

Hey there, I'm Michelle!

Interior Decorator in Austin, TEXAS

As the founder and lead interior decorator here at Cultivate Your Space, I'm here to bring you the vision your space—from the baseboards to the ceilings—even if you have no idea at all what your decorating style is.

My job isn't just to design a space you love. I want your living space to be a source of peace, comfort, security, and joy...not just somewhere you lay your head each night.

Most Austin interior decorators only focus on how your space looks—but not me. I care about both how your space functions AND how it makes you feel.
